Amouage, the independent Omani High Perfumery House, has unveiled its new boutique at Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi. The opening marks another chapter in the House’s thoughtful expansion across the region’s cultural capitals, bringing the world of Amouage to the heart of the UAE. Conceived as an artistic expression of place, the boutique is inspired by the city’s historic pearling traditions, brought to life in a contemporary design of light, water and reflection.
Rooted in Abu Dhabi’s Pearling Traditions
Imagined by Chief Creative Officer Renaud Salmon in collaboration with long-standing partner Héroïne, the boutique continues Amouage’s global design philosophy of creating spaces that invite discovery, each translating the cultural resonance of its surroundings into the world of High Perfumery. The creative vision draws inspiration from Abu Dhabi’s pearl heritage and tradition, once flourishing in the waters of the Arabian Gulf and long revered as a symbol of beauty and prosperity.
Inside, the interior evokes the treasures of the sea: sweeping metallic forms echo pearls in motion, their fluid reflective surfaces capturing light from every angle to create a sensorial landscape of water and radiance. Sand-coloured travertine anchors the space in natural elegance, while towering digital screens immerse visitors in shifting works of art. At the heart of the boutique, a single pearl transforms into a human-sized Amouage flacon, embodying the brand’s alchemy of nature, craftsmanship, and imagination.
“The design of every Amouage boutique is a dialogue between perfumery and place,” said Renaud Salmon, Chief Creative Officer of Amouage. “Here in Abu Dhabi, we drew from the city’s pearling traditions to create a living environment of light, reflection and depth, a space that invites exploration at every step.”
