MUKTI Restaurant & Bar is bringing its Indian menu to the table earlier on Saturdays and Sundays, with lunch now served from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The new daytime offering brings together some of the restaurant’s most enjoyable Indian favourites, from crisp dosas and Mumbai style street food to indulgent Thalis, fragrant curries and desserts.

There is a particularly good balance between vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes, making the menu easy to enjoy as a group. For those who want a little of everything, the Thalis offer a generous introduction to the kitchen, while the individual dishes make it just as easy to build a lunch around personal favourites.
And then there is dessert. The Chai Tiramisu deserves its own mention, bringing a subtle Indian twist to the classic Italian dessert and making a very good reason to leave room for something sweet.
Masala Dosa

The Masala Dosa arrives thin, crisp and beautifully golden, made from fermented rice and lentil batter before being filled with a comforting masala of spiced potatoes and onions.
Coconut chutney and traditional sambar are served alongside, making this a wonderfully satisfying South Indian start to lunch.
Plain Dosa

For those who prefer simplicity, the Plain Dosa keeps things beautifully restrained.
The fermented rice and lentil batter is spread thin and cooked until crisp, with a delicate texture that makes it particularly enjoyable with the accompanying coconut chutney and sambar.
Egg Bhurji

Egg Bhurji brings a more homestyle note to the menu. Softly scrambled eggs are cooked with onions, tomatoes, fresh chillies and aromatic Indian spices before being finished with fresh coriander.
It comes with flaky, layered Kerala paratha, ideal for tearing apart and scooping up the eggs.
Puri Bhaji

Puri Bhaji is pure Indian comfort food. Golden puris are freshly fried until puffed and served with a homestyle potato bhaji cooked with onions, tomatoes, warming spices and fresh herbs.
It is simple, generous and made for eating with your hands.
Idli Duo

The Idli Duo offers a lighter South Indian option, with soft steamed idli made from fermented rice and lentil batter.
The plate brings together masala flavoured idli and classic plain idli, accompanied by coconut chutney and traditional sambar.
Vada Pav

Mumbai makes an appearance with Vada Pav, one of India’s most recognisable street food favourites.
A crisp, spiced potato vada is tucked into soft toasted pav and layered with vibrant chutneys, including MUKTI’s dry garlic peanut chutney. The combination of soft bread, crisp potato, spice and chutney gives this humble street food plenty of character.
Keema Matar Pav

The Keema Matar Pav takes the pav in a richer direction.
Spiced lamb keema is combined with green peas and sweet caramelised onions before being tucked into soft toasted pav. It is MUKTI’s slider style interpretation of a deeply comforting Indian favourite.
Chicken Tikka Kathi Roll

The Chicken Tikka Kathi Roll is one for anyone who enjoys a little smoke and spice at lunchtime.
Tender pieces of marinated chicken tikka are charred in the tandoor before being wrapped in flaky paratha with crisp onions, fresh herbs and chutney.
Paneer Kathi Roll

The vegetarian counterpart is the Paneer Kathi Roll, with tandoor charred paneer wrapped in flaky paratha.
Crisp onions, fresh herbs and chutney bring freshness to the smoky paneer, making it an easy choice for a relaxed lunch.
Chole Bhatura

For something more substantial, Chole Bhatura brings a classic North Indian combination to the table.
The rich chickpea curry is slow cooked with tomatoes, onions and warming spices, while freshly fried bhatura arrives alongside, soft, fluffy and beautifully puffed.
This is a dish made for tearing, dipping and sharing.
Vegetarian Thali

The Vegetarian Thali is one of the most generous ways to experience the lunch menu at MUKTI.
Served as a complete Indian meal, it brings several preparations together with rice and accompanying sides, allowing diners to move between different textures, spices and flavours in one sitting.
It is an especially appealing choice for vegetarian diners who want a full meal rather than a single dish.
Non Vegetarian Thali

The Non Vegetarian Thali offers the same generous approach with a selection of meat based preparations alongside rice and accompanying dishes.
Butter Chicken is among the highlights, bringing its familiar creamy, rich character to the Thali. It is a satisfying option for anyone wanting to experience several of MUKTI’s flavours in one sitting.
Both Thalis are particularly well suited to a leisurely weekend lunch, when there is time to enjoy the meal at its own pace.
Gulab Jamun
For dessert, Gulab Jamun provides a classic Indian finish. Soft, sweet and soaked in syrup, it is the kind of dessert that needs little introduction and pairs naturally with the spices and richness of the meal. It is served in the Non-vegetarian and Vegetarian Thalis as a part of the Lunch menu.
Chai Tiramisu

There is one dessert that deserves a separate mention.
The Chai Tiramisu is not part of the lunch menu, but it is definitely worth trying if it is available. I had the chance to try it myself and it was excellent.
The classic tiramisu gets an Indian touch through the aromatic character of chai, creating something familiar while still feeling distinctly different. The combination works beautifully, particularly after a meal built around Indian spices.
A Weekend Lunch Worth Lingering Over

MUKTI’s new weekend lunch brings together a wonderfully broad selection of Indian cooking without making the experience feel overly formal. There are crisp dosas and fluffy puris, delicate idli, Mumbai favourites such as Vada Pav, substantial kathi rolls and hearty Chole Bhatura.
The Thalis add another dimension, particularly for diners who want to explore several dishes at once. With both vegetarian and non vegetarian options available, the menu works equally well for mixed groups.
And while the Chai Tiramisu sits outside the lunch menu, it is worth asking about. It made a particularly memorable ending to the meal.
For a weekend afternoon in Hua Hin, MUKTI’s new lunch is an inviting excuse to slow down, order generously and spend a little longer at the table.
